Germaine Emilie Krebs, aka “Madame Gres”, launched her haute couture fashion house Gres in Paris in 1942. Although the fashion house no longer in production, the associated fragrance line, Parfums Gres is still producing new scents. The first (and most famous) fragrance to be released under the Parfums Gres line was Cabochard, launched in 1959, and the Parfums Gres fragrance line has since been expanded.
